The Handley Page V/1500 four-engine bomber ‘Old Carthusian’ bombs the Afghan capital of Kabul dealing a huge blow to Afghan morale and helping to ensure a quick settlement to the 3rd Afghan War.  No 31 Squadron Royal Air Force carries out the 3rd raid on the Afghan city of Jalalabad in a week.  During those raids three aircraft have been lost.
